Material factual changes are dated here so the tracker does not silently rewrite its history.

8 September 2026 — market update and automation clarification

Added Firmus’s OpenAI agreement for two Malaysian sites and the Firmus–SUBCO APX East connectivity announcement. Both remain company-reported market updates. The more-than-900 MW contracting figure spans Firmus’s regional customer portfolio; it is not Australian operating capacity. The cable announcement describes future connectivity with a Q4 2028 service target.

No facility records, capacity totals or individual record check dates changed. The April national baseline remains separate. This was a targeted review of recent developments, not a re-audit of all 152 project records.

Clarified the update process: a daily watch flags major developments; the monthly audit may publish source-checked material changes with a corrections entry. There is no continuous automatic refresh of every map record.

1 September 2026 — monthly evidence audit

Four records were added from newly available planning evidence: DoverDC SM1A and SM1B at South Morang, Zerra DC’s Campbellfield campus and the Western Downs Digital Park. SM1A and SM1B are separate buildings on separate sites within Dover’s wider South Morang project. Campbellfield is recorded as contested after EPA Victoria’s formal objection; it has not been rejected. Western Downs is recorded without a capacity because public reports conflict and the project website does not publish a comparable MW figure.

Firmus Bell Bay moved from contested proposal to committed after George Town Council approved the 288 MW maximum-demand project 6–1 on 25 August, subject to conditions. The record still notes unresolved energy-supply arrangements, construction timing and community opposition. The site now contains 152 records; only these five affected records carry the 1 September check date.

The current-updates panel now includes AEMO’s 2026 ESOO forecast of approximately 5 TWh in 2025–26 rising to 34 TWh in 2035–36, or roughly 3% to 13% of NEM grid-supplied electricity; the NSW policy framework and its separately defined 28 GW connection-request figure; Transgrid’s readiness policy; and National Cabinet’s agreement to mandatory standards. None is added to or substituted for the April industry report’s 21.6 GW national project baseline.

9 August 2026 — planning, grid-risk and ownership update

Four independently sourced proposals were added: CDC KC1 at Kemps Creek (144 MW total power consumption at Prepare SEARs), GreenSquare MEL1 at Spotswood (planning application received; proponent says up to 240 MW IT), the non-binding Aurora Energy Precinct pathway near Port Augusta (17 MW first stage, approximately 200 MW anchor and a longer-term pathway up to 1 GW), and GreenSquareDC’s Norwest expansion (on exhibition; no comparable capacity stated on the portal summary). Their capacity definitions and development status are kept separate.

Fujitsu’s grouped Australian records were resolved into six facility records. Homebush, Greystanes, Noble Park, Eight Mile Plains and Malaga are subject to an agreed sale to Next Capital, but Fujitsu remains the operator until completion. North Ryde is explicitly excluded. The Weddell record now notes the non-binding Halliburton agreement and unresolved concept, finance and approval work. The tracker now contains 148 records.

A current-updates panel was added for AEMO’s 9 GW maximum NEM connection queue, AEMO’s 2026 power-system risk scenarios, the proposed majority-renewables policy test and Firmus’s company-reported US$2 billion equity round. None of these newer figures replaces the April industry report’s 21.6 GW national baseline. Search metadata, the sitemap and robots file were moved from the former hosting address to datacentres.regularsai.com.au.

24 July 2026 — independent directory reconciliation and legal clean-up

The tracker was compared with Data Center Map as a coverage benchmark, then each candidate was researched independently. New records include four large NSW planning applications, the Southern Highlands Data Campus, Ballarat and Mid West regional facilities, VIRIDIS Burnie, 42-24 Hobart and Google’s reported Christmas Island data hub. The 90 Aldington Road record uses the current 245 MW planning-portal figure rather than earlier 168 MW reporting. Records that depended directly on a commercial directory were removed or replaced with operator sources. The tracker now contains 140 records.

Method, terms and privacy pages were tightened; an explicit right-of-reply process and permanent OpenStreetMap/OpenFreeMap attribution were added. This tracker does not import or reproduce a commercial directory database.

23 July 2026 — late-breaking S7 and Weddell updates

NEXTDC S7 was updated from the operator’s 550+ MW public description to the current 612 MW application figure. Its record now notes three buildings, 340 backup generators and the replacement of the recycled-water proposal with closed-loop liquid cooling and air heat rejection. Beetaloo Digital was moved from a broad Beetaloo-region marker to approximate Weddell and expanded to the two-campus, 185-hectare feasibility proposal with up to 2 GW of gas generation. Neither change was folded into the April report’s 21.6 GW national headline.

23 July 2026 — final national coverage sweep

The tracker expanded from 102 to 133 attributed records. New coverage includes NEXTDC’s regional edge sites, Leading Edge’s six-site regional NSW network, DCI’s Sydney build-out, Edge Centres’ regional fleet, current Vocus regional records, Firmus projects in Tasmania and South Australia, Keppel’s Morwell option and Energy North’s Project Ares. NEXTDC GE1 and D2 were moved to construction; D1, S6 and DCI Adelaide capacities were corrected against current operator disclosures.

23 July 2026 — national public-evidence expansion

The tracker expanded from 35 starter records to 102 attributed records across all Australian states and territories represented in public evidence. Facility, campus and portfolio record types were added.

23 July 2026 — CDC Sydney status correction

CDC Marsden Park was corrected from operational to early construction. Eastern Creek was separated into four operating buildings and two construction-stage buildings in line with CDC’s location disclosure.

23 July 2026 — map reliability

The static map was replaced with a zoomable street map and a bundled map worker. A readable project index remains available if the external street layer cannot load.

How corrections work

Send the project name, the field you believe is wrong and a primary document where possible through the RegularsAI YouTube channel. Typographical fixes may be made without a log entry; changes that alter status, capacity, ownership, location, evidence grade or the conclusion will be logged.
